When you think of the music scene on the west coast, Seattle inevitably comes up. Its the home of grunge, and the birthplace of Nirvana right? Well technically Nirvana was from about 2 hours away. Drive 2 hours north of Seattle, and you find Bellingham, another center mass of music in the area. Recently, I had a sit down with Ron Raymundo of Next 7 Exits, a Bellingham based record label.
Any time you see a success on film, a company will try to replicate that same experience in a video game. Sometimes its amazing, like GoldenEye. Sometimes its a train wreck, like Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game. And sometimes it’s all over the place, like Jurassic Park.
Forza 5 is Garbage.
If you think about it, an opinion is much like that rifle recently flaunted by the old coot strolling through Hartsfield International Airport. But since this is the Internet, I know not much thinking is done here, so I’ll explain. See, that rifle could be a useful tool, and the man has a right to possess it, and technically can have it there or many other places. It’s his choosing, though, to openly display it there—to prove a point—that proves this point: He’s an idiot. Are you with me? It was unnecessary, senseless, provocative. And too-easily misinterpreted.
The video game industry is fickle. Partly because the genre is so new, and partly because it reinvents itself every few years. The long standing staple of the industry, and of video game makers in general, is the home console.
